New Year, New Feet!
Are you a new year’s resolution kind of person? Rather than setting an all or nothing resolution to become a foot care master and invest in foot spas, fancy creams etc. we would like to encourage you to incorporate healthy foot behaviours into your every-day life. Below are three simple steps that will have your feet happy and healthy in 2022.
Wear shoes that fit
Always worn a size 8 shoe? Your feet change shape as you age, which means the size 8 that fitted you 10 years ago may not be the right size for you anymore.
Your feet perform so much better when they are comfortable and supported in well-fitting shoes. It is important to still be professionally fitted before you decide on a pair of shoes.
Check your feet
It can make a huge difference to a quick check in on your feet every day and see how they're faring.
Have a look to see if there is any swelling, changes in skin colour and thickness, nail discolouration and just anything that looks a little funky or odd.
While you are there apply some moisturiser to your heels, it can make a huge difference to the appearance and health of your feet.
Don’t wait for pain, or let pain go on for too long
Not so fun fact - one in five Australians don't prioritise their feet and lower limbs. Pain is often why people head to the podiatrist, but often they've had the issue for a long time.
Don't wait for pain to be the reason to come see us. See your podiatrist like you see your dentist; often and consistently
